Abstract
931,011. Ventilating vehicles. J. STONE & CO. (DEPTFORD) Ltd. Aug. 31, 1961 [Sept. 6, 1960], No. 30700/60. Class 137. [Also in Group XXIX] Warming and ventilating air passes through a conduit 1 to an enclosure, e.g. a vehicle interior, to be heated under the control of a flap valve 2 regulating the amount of air flowing through an opening 3 to outside the enclosure, the valve being operated by a thermal element 5 contained within a thermal model 6, 13 of the enclosure, i.e. an external device simulating the heat access to and loss from the enclosure. The thermal element contains a fusible wax 4 and carries an adjustable insulator 15 set to simulate the insulation around the enclosure, is surrounded by a sleeve 13 producing a dead air space to simulate the cooling conditions and by a jacket 6 through which hot air flow, via pipe 12 and valve 9, varies in a similar manner to flow to the enclosure.
