Abstract

930,742. Cartons for dispensing tissues. SCOTT PAPER CO. Oct. 12, 1961, No. 36623/61. Classes 18 and 94(1). A receptacle 11, of cardboard or the like for dispensing tissues 12 and the like stacked therein has an apertured cover 13 through which the tissues are withdrawn and a lightweight control plate 16 also of cardboard or similar material loosely fitted within the receptacle said plate being movable towards the cover aperture 14 by withdrawal of the uppermost tissue of the stack, subsequently returning to rest on the tissue below and having an opening 15 through which the tissues are withdrawn which is relatively narrow in places to distort a sheet dispensed therethrough and to increase frictional contact between this sheet and the one with which it is interfolded, and relatively wide in another part to allow several tissues to be removed together. The tissues are stacked as shown in Fig. 3. As the uppermost tissue 18 is dispensed its edge portion 24 lifts and draws along the overlying portion of the next tissue 19 to present the portion 22 in an accessible position above the opening 15, the control plate 16 acting to increase the frictional engagement between the two tissues. The control plate may be made of bendable material so that it can be removed from the receptacle if desired. Specification 917,049 is referred to.
