4 Claims. (Cl. 20G-42) My invention relates to storage receptacles.

In accordance with my invention, articles such, for example, as pieces of pyrophoric metal, pencil leads, tablets, pills or the like, are supported by a structure adapted to be slidably received in a passage formed in another structure, the structure iirst named being readily withdrawable from the structure second named so that the stored articles may be obtained as desired.

Various other objects, advantages and features of my invention will become apparent from the following detailed description.

My invention resides in the storage receptacle, features and combinations of the character hereinafter described and claimed. v

For an understanding of my invention and for an illustration of one of the forms thereof, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is an elevational view of the storage receptacle of my invention;

Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the parts oi the storage receptacle in disassembled relation;

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the storage receptacle shown in Fig. 1;

Fig. 4 is a horizontal sectional view, partly in elevation, taken on the line 4 4 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrows; and

Fig. 5 is a perspective view illustrating a modiilcation of the invention.

Referring to the drawing, S and SI represent two structures which are slidably related to each other in the manner hereinafter particularly described, the structure S defining a space in which the structure SI is slidably received.

As illustrated, the structure S is a housing which comprises a main member I formed with a slot la open at one end. In addition, the structure S may comprise the members 2 and 3 adapted to engage the respective upper and lower faces thereof, the member 2 comprising an elongated slot2a utilizable as hereinafter described. Still further, the structure S may comprise the respective upper and lower members 4 and 5.

'I'he members I, 2 and 3 may be formed from cardboard, pasteboard. plastic material, bre, rubber, or equivalent, while the members 4 and 5, particularly the former, should be formed from transparent material such as cellophane, glassine paper, or the like. As regards the complete structure S illustrated in Fig. 3, the various sheetlike members I, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are adhesively or otherwise held in proper face-to-face relation with respect to each other.

As will be noted, the slot Ia forms a passage for the free slidable reception of the structure SI. The slot 2a of the member 2 overlies this -passage and the transparent member 4 overlies the slot 2a. Therefore, as hereinafter described, a part at least of the structure SI when positioned in said passage, may be viewed through the transparent member 4 and the slot 2a.

'As shown in Fig. 2, the structure SI comprises a main member 6 having a handle section 6a and also having a plurality of transversely arranged slots Bb formed therein. In addition, the structure SI comprises a member 1 which is adhesively or otherwise suitably secured to the lower surface of the member 6. The member l serves as a closure for the slots Eb so that the latter constitute pockets or depressions each adapted to receive an article which is illustrated in Figs. 1, 3 and 4 as a piece of pyrophoric sparking metal M. As indicated, the depth of each depression is somewhat less than the diameter ofeach sparking metal piece. As was the case with respect to the members I, 2 and 3, the members 8 and I should be formed from cardboard.

In view of the foregoing, it will be understood that the structure SI serves as a holder for pieces of .pyrophoric sparking metal which are dis- 85 posed in the respective pockets 6b. In Fig. 5, I have illustrated a modification of the invention wherein the structures S and SI are formed in generally the same manner as hereinbefore described. However, as shown in said Fig. '5,' the member 6 of the structure SI comprises pockets 6c which may be circular for the reception of medicinal pills or tablets T such, for example, as aspirin tablets, vitamin pills, or the like.

It will be understood that the structure SI may be adapted for the storage of such various other articles as desired different from those specifically referred to above.

While the invention has been described with respect to certain particular preferred examples which give satisfactory results, it will be understood by those skilled in the art after understanding the invention, that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention and it is intended therefore in the appended claims to cover all such changes and modiilcations.

What is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

1. In a storage receptacle, a housing comprising a main sheet-like member formed with a slot, sheet-like members secured to the respective opposite faces of said main member, one of said last named sheet-like members comprising an elongated slot in part overlying the slot of said main member, a sheet of transparent material secured to the exterior surface of the member having the elongated slot, and a structure freely slidable in the passage defined by said rst named slot, said structure comprising a member formed with a plurality of pockets in each of which an article is adapted to be received.

2. In a storage receptacle, a housing comprising a main sheet-like member formed with a slot, sheet-like members secured to the respective opposite faces oi' said main member to form a passage, the top sheet-like member last named being provided with a window opening, and a structure freely slidable in said passage, said structure comprising a thick sheet-like member having a. plurality of passages extending therethrough, said structure further comprising a thin sheet-like member secured to the lower surv`face of said thick sheet-like member to close said passages and thereby form pockets in each of which an article is adapted to be received, said thick sheet-like member having a handle section disposed exteriorly of said housing.

In a storagevreceptacle, a housing comprising a main sheet-like member formed with a slot, sheet-like members secured to the respective opposite faces ofsaid main member to form a passage. said sheet-like members being secured throughout the periphery thereof to said main sheet-like member whereby access may be had to the interior of said housing only through the entrance to said passage, and a structure freely slidable in said passage, said structure comprising a member formed with a plurality of pockets in each of which an article is adapted to be received.

4. In a storage receptacle, a housing comprising a main sheet-like member formed with a slot, said member being formed from a single thickness of material having generally U-conilguration, sheet-like members secured to the respective opposite faces of said first named member to form a passage, the length of said sheet-like members being no greater than the length of said rst named member, and a structure freely slidable in said passage, said structure comprising a member formed with a plurality of pockets in each of which an article is adapted to be received, said last named member having a handle section disposed exteriorly of said housing.
