Abstract

930,566. Testing hollow-ware. DOW CHEMICAL CO. Sept. 29, 1961 [Sept. 30, 1960], No. 35280/61. Class 106 (2). [Also in Group XXVIII] Apparatus for testing hollow vessels comprises a constant volume pump for delivering hydraulic fluid to the vessel and a pressure detector connected to the vessel. A recorder gives a record of pressure against time. A change in the slope of the pressure time graph indicates the elastic limit of the vessel has been reached and the test may be stopped to prevent permanent deformation of the vessel.
