The two parts of a telescopic ladder are each composed of two parts a1, a2, Fig. 1, and b1, b2 joined by sleeves d and a coupling comprising hinged tubes e2, Fig. 3, is provided to connect two parts, e.g. b1, b2 to form a step-ladder. The sleeves d may be connected by rungs d2.
