Abstract
929,874. Powder metallurgy. RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF URBAN & RURAL TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION NIITS. May 14, 1959, No. 16550/59. Addition to 906,551. Class 82. [Also in Group XXXVI] In a thermocouple comprising a positive element formed by hot pressing powdered ZnSb alloy powder, one end of the negative element, is pressure fixed in the positive element during the process of making the latter. Fig. 1 shows an electrically heated steel mould 1 into which is inserted a steel sleeve 4 having depressions in which constantan wires 5 are partially inserted. ZnSb alloy powder mixed with paraffin wax 6 is poured in above the sleeve 4 and pressed to form a ZnSb briquette having two constantan electrodes fixed therein. The constantan electrodes of a plurality of thermocouples are joined by welded-on lengths of constantan wire.
