929,868. Tunnel diode multistable circuits. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 3, 1961 [Aug. 10, 1960], No. 27734/60. Class 40 (6). [Also in Group XIX] A shift register uses tunnel diodes TD, TD<SP>1</SP> in constant-current circuits as bit storage elements, the voltage across each element being stored across a capacitor C1, C1<SP>1</SP> so that when each stage is reset the data can be stepped along by immediately afterwards pulsing a shift line to set subsequent stages through diodes D1, D1<SP>1</SP>. The shift pulses may be derived from the reset pulses by gating the overshoot of the latter when obtained from a transformer source.
