The speed of electric motor 26 driving the pusher arm 24 is controlled by a resistance 29 varied in accordance with the position of planet wheels 13. Each rotation of disc 18 feeds one article 1 to a packing machine (not shown) and by means of worm 16 feeds a negative impulse to the storage mechanism 12 to 15 by a rim 15 acting on planet wheels 13. The rate of pushing is thus determined by the number of articles held by the stop and is so arranged that this number is held between set limits. The pusher may feed two objects at a time to a twin packaging machine. The epicyclic storage mechanism may be replaced by an electrical impulse storage device.
