Abstract
928,201. Reactors. FOSTER WHEELER Ltd. Jan. 25, 1962 [Jan. 30, 1961], No. 3543/61. Class 39 (4). [Also in Group XXII] The tubular heater 14 is welded to the wall 10 of a nuclear reactor pressurizer. The stub 16 is welded to the wall and the flange 20 of the heater welded to 16. The tube 14 passes into the pressurizer through the hole 12, with a wide clearance. The hole may have an inclined lower surface 24, and so be self draining. Alternatively, the hole may be conically shaped. With this construction, there are no crevices to collect radio-active material.
