Abstract

[Also in Group XXVIII] A device for treating soil with steam or other fluid comprises a wheeled container 1 provided with a removable lid 3 and with a perforated pipe 4 on the ends of which stub axles are secured for mounting the wheels 6. One end of the pipe 4 is closed, and the other is in communication with a hollow connector 12 (see Group XXVIII) provided with a branch 26 to which, for example, a steam supply hose is connected. Tie members 7, connected at their lower ends to the pipe 4 extend through slots 15 in the cover when the latter is sealed on the container, the cover being held securely in place by wedges 19 driven into slots 17 at the upper ends of the tie members. The cover may be reinforced at 18 to withstand the pressure of the wedge action. Outlets 9 and 16 are provided in the container and cover respectively. The frame 10, 11 serves to support the container in either the upright or inverted position, and the member 11 also functions as a handle.
