Abstract
926,218. Railway track brakes. AUGUST THYSSEN-HUTTE A.G. Aug. 5, 1960 [Aug. 7, 1959 (2)], No. 27264/60. Class 103 (1). A track retarder bar type rail brake comprising an adjustable outer brake beam 19 and a force-locking saddle 6 is characterized in that adjacent each force-locking saddle there is provided a transverse lifting member 5 on which an inner brake beam 12 is tiltably supported and in that the force-locking saddle comprises a one-armed lever fulcrumed outside the track, below the braking plane and secured to the inner brake beam so as to be suspended therefrom. The outer brake beam 19 is secured to a sliding chair guided horizontally on the transverse lifting member 5 and transversely of a track rail and to a contacting chair by means of which the force-locking saddle is guided at a distance from the transverselifting member 5. Between the sliding chair and the transverse lifting member 5, there is arranged a spring 25 controlled by means of a tensioning screw 29 in its movement towards an adjusting device.
