Abstract

925,990. Cycle frames. RALEIGH CYCLE CO. Ltd. Aug. 29, 1960 [Sept. 22, 1959], No. 32162/59. Class 136 (3). A tubular frame for a cycle comprises a shaped main-frame element 11 adapted to receive coaxially one or more additional frame elements, as for example a head-tube 13, one of the elements penetrating the wall of the other and being secured to it. The main-frame tube is reduced in diameter at 11b<SP>1</SP> to fit closely around the top of the headtube 13 which may or may not protrude from the top of it, but which protrudes at the bottom through a hole 17. The hole 17 may have a peripheral flange (not shown). A bracket 14 welded to the tube 11 carries the rear forks 12. The main-frame tube 11 is in general U-shaped and provides accommodation for the saddle-stem 15 and an anchorage 16 for attachment of an upper part of the rear fork (not shown) at its rear end. The tubes may be secured to each other by brazing or welding.
