Abstract
925,797. Generating combustion products under pressure. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Oct. 17, 1961 [Aug. 12, 1960], No. 27947/60. Class 51(1). An annular combustion chamber comprising an annular air jacket 5, 6 and an annular flame tube 17 which is constricted to form an air inlet has vanes 8 in the inlet to which are secured by brackets 9 an annular snout 11, a pair of concentric rings 14 which fit within or over the inner and outer edges of the snout 11, angularly-spaced tubular parts 15 interconnecting the rings 14 and gapped to receive complementary tubular portions 9a of the brackets 9 to which they are attached by pins 16, and sectoral parts 18 incorporating swirlers 19 surrounding the burners 20 and angularly aligned with air inlets 11a in the snout. The sectoral parts 18, rings 14, and flame tube 17 are connected together by bolts 20 passing through flanges 17a. The air jacket 5, 6 is formed in two parts joined by bolts 22 at a position slightly upstream of the pins 16.
