Abstract
925,557. Blow-moulding hollow articles. S. FISCHER, and R. FISCHER, [trading as ARMATURENFABRIK J. FISCHER]. March 10, 1960 [March 10, 1959; June 4, 1959], No. 8468/60. Class 87(2). In a blow moulding machine the section of tube last extruded is first cooled before blowing commences. In Fig. 1, when sufficient of a tube 2 is extruded cooled jaws 3, 4 close upon it, sever it and carry it down to the blow mould 10, 11. The jaws then rise to fetch the next piece. The cooling channels 5, 6 in the jaws may have outlets directed to the tube 2 and the mandrel 7 may be spring- loaded to travel partially with the jaws to mould the neck. The mandrel 7 may be stationary and of sufficient length to enter the mould. In Fig. 6 the mandrel 47 may have a projection 54 to eject the moulding or separation of the jaws 43, 44.
