Abstract

925,319. Force-feed lubricating. V. DALL'- OLIO. Aug. 5, 1960 [Aug. 5, 1959], No. 27276/60. Class 12 (3). In a speed-reducer having a worm 12 and worm-wheel 14, the worm is on a shaft 10 supported by axially-spaced bearings 18, 19 and the reducer is enclosed in a casing 13 having lubricant 21 therein in which the bearing 19 is immersed, the bearing 18 being lubricated by pumping means 23 located adjacent bearing 19. The pumping means 23 is a propeller and an additional propeller 22 supplies lubricant to the bearing 19 when the reducer is inverted, the connection between the bearings being a duct 24 in the wall of the casing 13.
