Abstract

924,757. Photographic cameras. CANON CAMERA CO. Inc. Dec. 12, 1960 [May 27, 1960], No. 42733/60. Classes 97 (1) and 98 (1). A camera comprises optical systems for picture taking and viewfinding, said systems having optical elements in common, and an annular mirror spaced from and surrounding the optical axis of the picture taking system for deflecting light into the viewfinder system. In the camera shown, the viewfinder system comprises an objective consisting of lens components 9, 4, 6 and an eyepiece 8, the mirror which is either fully or partially reflecting being shown at 3. A focusing screen 7 is placed in the focal planet of the viewfinder objective system and comprises a transparent plate with a matt surface or a surface consisting of conical or pyramidical elements or a split-field type screen.
