Abstract

924,689. Meat &c. display trays. DIAMOND NATIONAL CORPORATION. Sept. 28, 1960 [Dec. 9, 1959; Jan. 25, 1960], No. 33344/60. Class 49. [Also in Group XVII] A moulded tray for meat or poultry comprises three layers of pulp with an upper 22 and lower layer 24 formed from non-absorbent material and an inner layer 26 moulded from absorbent material. The upper surface 16 of the bottom wall is provided with slots 18, extending through the two topmost layers 22, 26 with the slots arranged in one or more rows near the outer periphery of the bottom wall to trap any juices resulting from the food, the juices being absorbed by the inner surfaces of the slots. By arranging the slots in a limited number of rows around the periphery the dehydration of the food is prevented. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 864,039 and 867,470.
