Abstract

These are prepared by the reactions: <FORM:0924648/IV(a)/1> the first being carried out in aqueous solution, preferably at 5-30 DEG C., and the second being carried out in the presence of a weak alkali, e.g. NaHCO3 or Na2CO3. The starting material is prepared by condensing ethyl oxalate with ethyl fluoroacetate.
