Abstract
924,516. Coin-freed vending apparatus. MAN GEE WANG. Feb. 19, 1962 [March 6, 1961], No. 34235/60. Class 27. A coin-freed vending machine comprises a refrigerated storage hopper 10 for pre-cooked food, a conveyer 6 movable through an electrically-heated oven 27 and coin-freed timing means 32 to switch on the oven and discharge a supply of food on to the conveyer for movement through the oven and delivery down a shoot 35. A bag to contain the food may also be released. Chips are contained in a hopper 11 and are released on to a bucket on the conveyer by a cam 17 which holds a flap 13 for the required time and a slab 16 of fish from a hopper 12 is pushed out by an ejector 24 to a position adjacent the chips; the ejector is operated by another cam 21 on the conveyer and is slightly inclined so that, as it moves, it rises above the cam and finally returns to initial position under the action of a spring 25. The oven 27 has a reflector arch 27 and infra-red or other heating elements 29 are disposed lengthwise along it, the intensity of heat being controlled by the type or number of elements at different parts along the length of the oven. A drain 31 is provided for fat released from the food. In a modification, the fish and chips are provided on stacked trays which are released one at a time on to the conveyer by a pair of indexing shafts having vertically-spaced paddles which support the lowermost and next lowermost trays.
