923,490. Stud and socket fasteners; locking studs. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Sept. 2, 1960 [Nov. 25, 1959], No. 40091/59. Classes 44 and 89 (1). A stud and socket fastener comprises a spherical dome-shaped resilient sheet metal socket member 2 having a central stud aperture 3 defined by the edges 4 of resilient tongues 5. As shown in Fig. 4, which represents the application of the fastener to a motor vehicle dashboard beading strip 6 having studs as at 8, the socket member 2 is applied to the stud by a tool 11, when the edges 4 of the tongue 5 are reversely bent and retain the socket member on the stud by friction or by digging in. The socket may be wholly received within a recess 10 in the support 7.
