Abstract

The invention comprises salts of triazines of the formula <FORM:0922609/IV(a)/1> where R1, R2 and R3 are selected from O-alkyl, NH-alkyl, N-dialkyl and halogen, at least one being NH-alkyl or N-dialkyl, with an acid <FORM:0922609/IV(a)/2> where R4 is halogen and R5 and R6 are hydrogen, halogen or C1-6 alkyl which may contain chlorine atoms. These salts are prepared from the components at room or elevated temperature with or without a solvent. They are plant growth regulants (see Group VI).ALSO:Compositions for destroying plant growth comprise a salt of a triazine of formula <FORM:0922609/VI/1> where R1, R2 and R3 are selected from O-alkyl, NH-alkyl, N-dialkyl and halogen, at least one being NH-alkyl or N-dialkyl, with an acid <FORM:0922609/VI/2> where R4 is halogen and R5 and R6 are hydrogen, halogen or C1-4 alkyl which may contain chlorine atoms (see Group IV (b)), together with a carrier therefor. The compositions may be water-emulsifiable concentrates or spraying powders, or dusting powders. Specified carriers are sand, talc, kaolin and organic solvents such as ethanol, xylene and acetone. Bactericides, fungicides, insecticides, fertilizers, wetting agents, emulsifiers, dispersants and adherents may also be present. In examples other ingredients include ethylene oxide condensates, cell pitch, 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole and 2,4-D sodium salt.
