[Also in Group XXIX] In a swash-plate pump, a stationary cylinder block 25 is mounted for limited angular movement for alignment with a rotary, semi-circular valve plate 17, against which it is spring-biased. Block 25 has curved surfaces 26 engaging a thrust ring 28 and is located against rotation by a pin 30. Liquid enters cylinders 33 from housing 10 through ports 46 when uncovered by valve plate 17, and is delivered via an arcuate groove 47 and passages 49 in valve plate 17, Fig. 4, sleeves 18 and 51 and outlet 55. Swash-plate 23 is located on shaft 16 by a pin 20 and ring 22. Sleeve 51 has limited movement for alignment with sleeve 18. The surface of valve plate 17 is hydraulically relieved.
