Abstract

The filterability of wax slurry in lubricating oil dewaxing plants is improved by recycling a slurry of wax crystals from the chilled filter feed directly into the feed to the chilling zone in proportions of from 0,25 to 2,0 volume per cent based on the total composition. Preferably the recycled slurry contains from 5 to 50 weight per cent of wax crystals. In examples propane and butyl acetate were employed as dewaxing solvents.
