Abstract

920,549. Hypodermic needles. J. BUNYAN. Nov. 23, 1961 [Nov. 24, 1960], No. 40446/60. Class 81 (2). A hypodermic needle 2, secured at its base to a boss 4 of an ampoule 1, is surrounded by a collapsible tube 6 fixed at one end to boss 4 and provided at its other end adjacent the needle point with a needle-penetrable sealing cap 11. In Fig. 1 cap 11 has a depression 11a on its outer surface. In Fig. 2 cap 11 is of uniform thickness except for a conical recess 11b aligned with the needle point. As shown tube 6 is made from plastic material. In a modification the tube 6 is made from aluminium foil. In a further modification tube 6 is made integral with the ampoule.
