919,938. Yarn-braking devices. KRAUSE, W., ROSENKRANZ, H., KRAUSE, H., and ROSENKRANZ, D., [trading as PLUTTE KOECKE & CO.]. Sept. 20, 1961 [Sept. 30, 1960], No. 33715/61. Classes 120 (2) and 142(1). A yarn-brake for warping-frames comprises an inlet eye 3 and a rotary drum 6 around which the yarn is wrapped and which cam be braked by a variable amount, a yarn friction brake 7 being provided between the inlet eye and the drum. The brake 7 may comprise a number of fingers ower which the yarn passes or upper and lower discs 9 on a pin 11, the position of the discs being adjustable vertically by packing- discs and laterally in a slot 12. The drum may be braked mechanically, electromagnetically, pneumatically or hydraulically and have a conical rim 6a to separate the turns of thread around it. The elements 3, 7, 6 and an outlet-eye 4 are arranged on a support plate 2 secured to the machine frame at 1. The braking of a number of drums in the warping-frame may be adjusted centrally.
