A locking-device for the lift cords of Venetian blinds, curtains and the like, comprises a housing 1 having an aperture 7 in its rearward face for the passage therethrough of the lift cords, and supporting a freely rotatable guide pulley or pulleys 4 over which the lift cords pass prior to being entrained in a locking device 3, the guide pulley or pulleys and the locking device being sufficiently wide to guide and lock more than two lift cords simultaneously. A second pulley 8 mounted in the housing serves to guide the tilt cords of Venetian blinds. The side, rearward and upper faces of the housing are all provided with holes, by means of which the device may be secured in any convenient location.
