Abstract

919,274. Creels. LEESONA CORPORATION. Feb. 28, 1961 [March 7, 1960], No. 7350/61. Class 120 (2). A yarn winding machine has a yarn gripping member 32, Fig. 1, arranged between two yarn packages P<SP>1</SP>, P<SP>2</SP> such that when the tail end T<SP>1</SP> of package P<SP>1</SP> has been connected to the leading end Y<SP>2</SP> of package P<SP>2</SP> the connected ends can be releasably held by the member 32 to prevent the connecting length from swinging about. When package P<SP>1</SP> is exhausted the winding tension disengages the connected ends from the member 32. The member 32, Fig. 4, may be an axially displaceable but non-rotatable disc resting on a layer of resilient material 30 such as sheepskin, felt or sponge rubber. Specification 704,931 is referred to.
