Abstract
919,225. Testing machines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. Oct. 13, 1960 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 35047/60. Class 106 (2). An hydraulically operated testing machine producing pulsating loads comprises an accumulator 1 supplied by a pump 10 and a testing cylinder 5 which is connected alternately, through a rotating slide 3, to accumulator 1 and to a relieving pipe 8. A piston 6 in cylinder 5 engages the test piece 7. In order to produce a steep pressure wave, Fig. 5, the tubes 2, 4 are made short and of large diameter and the crosssections of the slide 3 are limited. The slide may be formed as a double piston slide, Fig. 6, and the slide may be preceded by a selector slide allowing, for example, only every second or third impulse to pass.
