Abstract

A polyolefin (e.g. polyethylene) produced according to the process of the parent Specification, is treated, after separation from the polymerization mixture, with an organic peroxide, whereby cross-linking is effected and the physical properties of the polyolefin are improved. Of the many peroxides specified those claimed and exemplified are t-butyl, di-t-butyl, t-cumyl-t-butyl and dicumyl peroxides. The treated polyolefins may be subsequently moulded.
