918,792. Outboard motors. MORREY, C. June 21, 1961 [June, 30, 1960], No. 22870/60. Class 114. An outboard motor unit of the type comprising a motor which drives a propeller through a substantially vertical transmission, and support means so that the unit can be pivoted about a transverse axis, is provided with a slide 10 to which the unit can be secured and which is movable in guides 11 on a plate 13 which may be clamped to the stern of a boat. The slide 10 is moved by a handle 27 through a tack and pinion 22 and 23 and may be locked in a selected position by a bolt 29 locating in a hole 30 in a pinion shaft 24. The slide may be locked by a peg projecting through the stern into one of anumber of notches in the slide. The slidemay be raised by a self-locking screw-jack or hydraulic mechanism.
