Abstract

917,621. Valves. CONTINENTAL MANUFACTURING CO. March 9, 1961, No. 8746/61. Class 135. A plug cock comprises a housing formed with preferably substantially rectangular inlet and outlet passages 36, 38, Fig. 2, and an intersecting bore housing a preferably frustoconical shaped plug 34 having a through passage 42. The bore also houses a sleeve formed as two semi-circular sections 50, Fig. 3, each provided with a rectangular port 70 having its sides formed by lips 76 which are received in recesses 82 in the inlet and outlet passageways and secured by plates 78. The bore of the housing is provided with longitudinal ribs A, B and C forming recessed portions, the ribs and recesses co-operating with a similarly arranged configuration AA, BB, CC and 158, 160, to provide sealing of the sleeve, the sleeve is preferably assembled in the manner described in Specification 876,253.
