Abstract
A polyvinyl chloride composition comprises 98 to 99,5 parts by weight of a suspension polyvinyl chloride (produced by polymerizing vinyl chloride in the presence of monomer-soluble activators with protective colloids as suspension stabilizers) and 0,5 to 2 parts by weight of a copolymer derived from 50 to 90 parts by weight of dibutyl fumarate and 50 to 10 parts by weight of butadiene. The polyvinyl chloride may have a K-value between 60 and 80. Optional ingredients specified are manganese hydroxide, calcium stearate, a proprietary wax and glycerine mono-oleate. The mixture may be homogenized and gelatinized on rollers at 160 DEG to 180 DEG C. and then granulated. The granulate may be extruded to form tubes especially resistant to prolonged high pressures.
