916,987. Magnetic transducing heads; Hallplates. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. May 22, 1959 [May 22, 1958; May 24, 1958; Feb. 3, 1959], No. 17523/59. Class 40 (2). A Hall-plate head has the Hall-plate 23 mounted in the gap defined by two ferrous members 32 and extending to the transducing extremity of that gap. The Hall-plate material may be vapour-deposited and the lead 34 from the forward edge of the plate may be vapour-deposited over an insulating coating also vapour-deposited on the plate, Fig. 7, or taken around the outside of a support-plate 35, Fig. 6, The arrangement is applicable to magnetic tapes, Fig. 5, or to position detectors, Figs. 1 to 3, determined by finely-spaced permanent magnets 1, 2.
