Abstract

916,073. Moulding hollow articles. UNILEVER Ltd. Feb. 22, 1960 [Feb. 27, 1959], No. 6884/59. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII]. A bottle is moulded from a hot sheet 1 of thermoplastic material by bending it to U-shape enclosing the bent sheet in a mould 2, 3 and blowing it to the shape of the mould by a nozzle 6 the neck-part of the bottle being formed from the bottom of the U so that it is formed without a seam. To facilitate removal of the bottle, each of the mould halves may have parts 37, 38 to which they are releasably connected by pins 39. Protrusions on the bottle may be formed by recesses 34, 36 in the mould. The neck may be formed with a screwthread.
