915,178. Making sheets; altering physical properties; straightening. INDUGAS GESELLSCHAFT FUR INDUSTRIELLE GASVERWENDUNG. Jan. 18, 1961 [Feb. 10, 1960], No. 2006/61. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A process for the production of electric steel sheet or strip with low power losses comprises subjecting the sheet or strip already rolled to the required final thickness to a single or repeated bending action combined with or followed by annealing. The bending is carried out on a roll-type straightening machine as shown in the drawing and imparts a longitudinal stretching to the sheet or strip. The bending operation may take place within the annealing furnace in which case the rolls are cooled or between two successive annealing treatments performed in line on the sheet or strip. The bending is carried out at the recrystallization temperature of the material of the sheet or strip.
