Abstract

914,586. Diaphragm pumps. GIRDLES. TONE PUMPS Ltd. Dec. 2, 1960 [Feb. 11, 1960], No. 4924/60. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXVI]. A diaphragm for use in a pulsating diaphragm pump for corrosive liquids comprises a plurality of layers of rubber, neoprene, synthetic rubber or synthetic plastic material, the central layer being of harder material than the outer layers. A threaded stud 4 is secured in the diaphragm by a plate 5 embedded in the inner surface of an outer layer 1, and a nut or washer 6 located on the stud and embedded in the other outer layer 3. The central portion of outer layer 1, in contact with the liquid pumped, is of greater thickness and is shaped as shown. Specification 475,202 is referred to.
