Abstract

913,880. Washing and peeling vegetables. YOUNG, S. G. Sept. 27, 1961 [June 28, 1960], No. 22607/61. Class 28 (2). [Also in Group XIII] A portable spin-drier which may be utilized to rinse and peel vegetables comprises a downwardly open drum 2 having legs 3 forming a stand 1 for a downwardly open drum 14 rotatably mounted therein, having a detachable perforated cover 4. The drier is inverted for the loading operation at which time it is adapted to be supported on projection 12, and a shaft 13 of the driving gear 9, 10, which gear is adapted for manual rotation by a handle 11. The drier may also be driven by a reciprocating handle embodying an Archimedian screw and ratchet, or be power-driven by an electric motor, or a turbine operated by the pressure of the domestic water supply.
