A direct current measuring device (Fig. 1) comprises a direct voltage amplifier 6 to the input of which is supplied a measurement current i 1 and a negative feed-back current i 2 derived over capacitance 1 from a voltage u 3 developed across a resistance capacitance integration circuit 2, 3 shunting the output of the amplifier, whose voltage u 2 operates instrument 5 indicating the input current i 1 to which the feed-back current i 2 is maintained almost equal to develop a small input voltage u 1 at the amplifier. Manually or automatically operated switches 4, 7 discharge the integration and feedback capacitances at the conclusion of measurements or after a measurement time interval at which the integration condition u 3 <<u 2 is no longer fulfilled. In modifications (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) the amplifier output current flows through a meter and a series resistance across which the integrating circuit is connected, or the integrating circuit is energized from a voltage divider shunted across the amplifier output as a sensitivity adjustment. Capacitance 1 may be continuously or switchably variable.
