A portable swimming pool, (Figs. 1, 3 and 5), comprises the combination of a rectangular framework and a water inpermeable sheet suitable for folding to form a rectangular container fitting therewithin, each side 6 having an edge extension for folding over a framework component 1, and the corner fold providing flaps 10 to fold about a component 2. The framework is made up of frames detachably secured one to the other, there being an additional component 3 in one frame at each corner to form a slot thereat through which the flaps are passed. Rods 12 are disposed in hems 11 in the edge extensions of the sides of the sheet and engage under hooks 14 on the components 2 at the corners to fix the sides, the tightness of the container sides being thus adjustable. The end frames have an intermediate component 2 to attach to it a cord 13, to tighten the corner flaps, engaging eyelets in the sheet fabric to fasten it to this component 2, or it may be fastened to eyelets on the upper component 1 of the end frame. The lower member 1 of one end frame has an offset portion forming an opening for a container discharge pipe 16. The components 2 have attached eyes through which a coupling pin may be passed to join two frames, which may also be passed, where desired, through eyes on the member 2 of a side spur 15. The pool may have ladder attachment, (Fig. 7), comprising two inverted-U frames 24 with crossbars 25 for steps and attaching brackets 26, 26<SP>1</SP> with studs 27 to engage with sockets 28 on two uprights 20, joined by a crossbar 22, on a modified end frame, and providing a space for a discharge pipe 30. The sheet may be fabric impregnated with rubber or synthetic resin, or synethetic resin reinforced with fabric.
