A carrier for a sanitary pad comprises a boat-shaped holder 11, preferably of nylon, having a supporting strap 13 at each end by which it is connected to a waistband 17 this being formed to a V-shape at the front and back of the wearer with the straps 13 connected to the base of the V. Additional, subsidiary straps 15 extend from the ends of the holder 11 to points 16 on the waistband approximately midway between the straps 13. Clips 13 are provided for securing a pad in position and these may be covered by a flap of material 21.
