Abstract

912,727. Garment waistbands; sewing. TEXTILE SALES CO. April 25, 1961 [Jan. 19, 1961], No. 14832/61. Classes 112 and 141. A waistband comprises a base fabric 10 provided with at least one longitudinal ridge comprising mutually overlapping convolutions 11 of resilient thread of non-circular crosssection disposed entirely on one face of the base fabric and anchored by loops 12 of non- elastic thread. The convolutions 11 and loops 12 are formed by double-loop stitching. The resilient thread may comprise natural rubber, neoprene, &c. of square or other polygonal cross-section while the non-elastic thread is cotton or nylon.
