Abstract

912,429. Photo-electric curve followers. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. June 28, 1961 [July 1, 1960], No. 23096/60. Class 40 (3). In a mechanism for scanning a line 23, Fig. 2, by means of a photo-electric cell 24, Fig. 1, an image of the line formed by an inclined mirror 22 is caused to scan the cell due to movement of the mirror which is carried by a member 15 eccentrically coupled at 16 to a rotating cylindrical body 13, the member 15 being restrained from rotation by a bar 18 fixed to it and to resilient mountings 20. The cell output actuates steering means to keep the mechanism following the path of the line and to drive a tool such as a flame cutter.
