A castor 1 has a king pin 2 with spaced flanges 3, 4, a horn 5 rotatably secured to pin 2 by bearings 6 and races 7, 8 and a wheel 9 of greater width than height and having a frustoconical surface making an angle of 1 to 2 degrees with a line parallel to the wheel axis, the mounting of the pin 2 in its socket 31, Fig. 7, being such as to allow positioning of the pin at 1 to 2 degrees to the vertical when the castor is loaded.
