Abstract

911,554. Drying walls. PALMER, K., and FERBER, H. Aug. 9, 1960 [Aug. 10, 1959; Oct. 24, 1959], No. 27591/60. Class 20 (2). The closure cap 3 of an inclined drying cavity 1 in a wall is provided with inclined guide surfaces to promote flow of air through apertures in the cap. In Figs. 1 and 2 inclined slots 6 are provided in the sides of the cap 3. A Y- section guide wall 8 extends into the cavity from the back of the cap. The cap may be provided with holes over a part or the whole of its vertical face. In Figs. 4 and 7 the cap 3 has vertical slots 12 in its vertical face inclined inwards in a horizontal plane and arranged on each side of a rectangular air guide 15 which has side guide surfaces 16, 18, 19 flared outwardly from the wall and an upper side surface 17 inclined in the opposite direction which forms with a projection 22 a funnel encouraging inward air flow. Inclined holes 13, 14 are arranged above and below the guide 15. Air which blows against one edge of a depression 20 formed in the guide 15 is deflected outwards and produces suction in the slot adjoining this opposite edge. A guide wall 21 projects from the back of the cap 3 into the cavity 1. A vertical rib 23 divides the face of the cap into two parts.
