911,266. Wall and ceiling linings. Mc- CARTHY, J. R., and KIPLING, L. Dec. 15, 1960, No. 43181/60. Class 20 (4). A ceiling or wall lining comprises panels supported from existing surfaces by plastic foam pads l, m and n through the medium of an impact adhesive. The panels rest at their edges upon extruded plastic battens which are each formed with a dovetailed channel d in which extruded plastic padholders engage by means of dovetailed projections e. The pads m, n, carried by the padholders are secured to the existing surface by impact adhesive. At the junction between separate aligned battens, the pad holders serve to couple the battens together as indicated at n, Fig. 7. The rear surface of each panel carries pads l at the corners and in the centre, the pads at the corners serving to urge raised edges f on the panels into engagement with grooves in the battens. The central pad l is adhesively secured to the existing surface to prevent sag of the panel. The panels may be formed of polystyrene.
