Abstract

[Also in Group XXXVI] Apparatus for detecting the presence of conductive or magnetic bodies comprises an oscillator, the frequency of which changes when the coil 6 is brought near a conductive or magnetic body, the change in frequency being detected by the resonant circuit 14, 15 (tuned to the normal oscillator frequency) and a diode 20, the trigger circuit comprising transistors 17, 18 energizing relay 4 when the rectified output of diode 20 falls below its normal level. An amplifier may be interposed between transistor 18 and relay 4. The circuit should be operated from a stabilized power supply.
