Abstract

910,251. Vehicle bodies. CHAPMAN, A. C. B. Feb. 23, 1959 [Nov. 21, 1957], No. 36269/57. Class 108(1). A vehicle body of laminated glass fibre and resin is reinforced by metal members embedded in or bonded to the skin. The metal engine support 13 has apertured longitudinals 14 which are bonded into the floor and the forward part of the passenger space is braced by a U-shaped member 42, the free ends of which are secured to metal pillars 46 which form convenient jacking points. The member 42 is accommodated in grooves in the windscreen frame and is covered in by the external bodywork.
