Abstract

909,683. Dispensing liquids. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd., and PHILLIPS, R. M. May 11, 1960 [April 10, 1959], No. 12181/59. Class 116. A petrol-dispensing system comprises a meter 8, Fig. 1, actuating transmitters 12, 17, which transmit electrical pulses providing an indicative respectively of the volume delivered and of a value, e.g. price or weight, which is a function of the volume. A pump 1 delivers to a meter 8 which drives directly the " volume " transmitter 12 and, through a variable gearing 10, 15, a " price " or " weight " transmitter 17. The transmitters 12, 17 are connected to contacts 19A, 19B associated with a selector switch 23, similar pairs of transmitters associated with different fuels being connected to other pairs of contacts 20A, 20B and 21A, 21B. Actuation of the selector knob 23 to select a particular fuel masks the identifying windows 25-27 of the fuels not being dispensed and connects the selected contacts to pulse counters 29, 31, which actuate the volume and price indicators 32, 33. A looking device associated with the selected dispensing nozzle 16 is freed by operation of the selector 23. Specifications 909,681 and 909,682 are referred to.
