909,425. Utilizing solar heat. CARTER, B. R. May 3, 1961 [May 3, 1960], No. 15640/60. Class 64 (2). A solar heater comprises a number of horizontal water-carrying pipes 2 arranged in parallel relationship one below the other in an inclined plane, and one or more sheet metal reflectors 1 attached to lateral supports 4 which are arranged in staggered formation. The supports 4 are made of wires and arrange the aluminium reflectors 1 in the form of a staircase. The pipes 2, which are painted black and are of copper, are supported by posts 3. The heater may be enclosed within a housing provided with at least one transparent side. The water may circulate naturally or by the aid of a thermostatically controlled pump.
