Apparatus for continuously casting hollow bodies comprises a mandrel D within a vertical mould K and means 5 for supplying a controlled flow of cooling fluid to a tube 1 connected coaxially with the mandrel. The tube is formed with projections 7 to retard the flow of fluid. The mandrel is cooled by a separate supply of fluid.
